I don’t have pets, but I have many friends with pets. One has a cat, another has two cats, and yet another has many cats. There are also those with dogs and those with a combo of both cats and dogs.
Even though I’m scared of pets—it’s a long story about how some dogs made my life hell while growing up—I love my friends, and when I’m gifting at Christmas, I have to consider their pet parenthood. It’s a good idea for my gift to reflect that I care about them and the needs of their pet.
You may not be scared of pets like me, but you may want to give your pet-owning friends gifts this Christmas. I am quite good at deciding which gifts are great for different categories of people and I can help you. Here are my top picks:
Custom Pet Portraits
Just as you’d love to receive a portrait of yourself, a pet lover would love to see one of their pet. There are several options you can consider for their portrait. It could be an actual and really beautiful picture of their pet, a cartoon version of their image, or a painting of it.
If you’ve been to their home and can remember its color schemes and decorations, you should pick a frame that matches both factors. They likely won’t expect to see their pet in a portrait gift, and it will be a pleasant surprise for them when unwrapped.

Personalized Pet Blanket
Blankets come in handy for comfort during the Christmas season because of the cold, but do you know what can make a blanket more special for a pet lover? A blanket that is all about their pet.
Get a blanket and have the receiver’s pet’s name written boldly on it, or have it designed with a picture of their pet. Nothing’s stopping you from even doing both. The receiver of your gift will see it as another item that connects them to their pet.
Interactive Pet Camera
These days, you can enjoy the company of your pet even when you’re at work, on a trip, or away from your house for whatever reason. How? With an interactive camera for pets. These cameras are not just monitors but allow for two-way interaction, so you can speak to them from where you are.
There are also those with treat dispensers. Thanks to them, pet owners can still give pets their favorite treats at the right time, even when they are not at home. Now, they can miss their pets less.
Custom Pet Collar
When it comes to gifting, a pet collar isn’t just another item for keeping the dog safe. It becomes something fashionable that pet owners can flaunt alongside their dogs when they take them on a walk or allow them to play in the park.
Carefully choose a beautiful collar and customize it with the pet’s name or some cool text that may be something the owner says about their pet—”I’m so cute!”—or something that tells the receiver they’re awesome—”My owner is the best!”

Pet-Themed Jewelry
One thing we use to express our personality or things we like is jewelry. For a pet owner, a piece of jewelry that shows that they love pets would be a welcome gift. Bracelets, neckpieces, and others can be given a pet vibe.
I’ll give you some ideas: a necklace with a paw print or the frame of a dog, cat, or rabbit as the pendant, a bracelet that contains letters of their pet’s name or breed, or a locket that has a cute picture of their pet (preferably one with them too) in it.

Customized Shirt
Who doesn’t love to wear a shirt that says something about what they love? I mean, you’ll most likely see me wearing a Buttons & Zips shirt if you run into me, and that’s because that’s my favorite album right now.
Shirts give enough space for as much customization as possible. You can keep it simple by adding only a photo of the pet or the pet’s name to the shirt, or you can combine both or add any other pet design you think will be beautiful!
Pet Massage Kit
Pets need their fair share of relaxation, just like humans. If giving a human a massage kit is a good idea, then gifting a pet lover one made for pets is a great idea—and also a thoughtful one.
This kit should contain a massage roller and other items that will help the pet relax. Some kits even come with a manual to guide the pet owner through massage sessions. This gift will improve the pet’s quality of life by relaxing it and helping the owner bond with it.

Custom Pet Calendar
Making a customized pet calendar is easy. All you need are pictures of their pets and the arrangement of the calendar for the year in focus. You can ask them for photos of their pets, or you may want to dig through their Instagram if they post them a lot.
You’ll need 12 sweet photos of these lovely creatures, which you can use on each calendar page and a few others if you want to add some special pages. If you include a page with a note about them or their pet, it’ll be the perfect Christmas gift.
Pet Stroller
While many pet owners would prefer to have their pets walking when they take them outdoors, there are many cases where a pet stroller comes in handy. Take, for example, a sick or recovering dog who isn’t strong enough for long walks.
Some pets may also find it fun riding in a stroller instead of walking by themselves. Older pets can experience the outdoors without stressing themselves too much.

Smart Pet Feeder
With a smart feeder, pet owners don’t have to be home to feed their pets, as feeding times and portions can be set on it. Gifting this to a pet owner gives them ease and convenience for managing their pet.
Many of them come with apps, and some have unique features. Some can tell you when they’re running low on food, while some can play a voice recording of you when it’s feeding time for your pet.

Pet-Themed Puzzle
Giving a puzzle to a puzzle lover is sweet, and if this puzzle lover is also a pet owner, you can combine these two of his favorite things into one gift—a puzzle customized after their pet. All you’ll need is a photo of the pet.
They’ll have fun trying to locate parts of their pet and push them into place. Working on the puzzle could also help them know the body of their pet even better. Double win! The completed puzzle will be a huge prize for them.
Paw Cleaner
Paw cleaners are easy to use. When you put water in them, all that’s left is to put your pet’s paw in it and twist the cleaner. It would wipe the dirt off your pet’s paws.
Pet owners who deal with muddy or dusty paw prints in the house after taking their pets for a walk or to play will find this cleaner a lifesaver. Its ease of use and functionality will make them thankful to you.
Matching Christmas Sweater
Don’t forget their pets when you want to give them a Christmas-themed sweater. Trust me, a set of matching human and pet sweaters is a hundred times cuter than just another human or pet sweater.
Besides the comfort that sweaters bring, they’ll be happy to show their matching sweaters when they go for holiday walks or to hang out with family and friends. Plus, the gift shows that you also consider their pets.

Pet Mug
A pet mug is simply a mug that has a design feature related to pets. However, you want your gift to be special, so picking up a mug with a creative pet design from a store, even though its a good idea, may not be enough.
A better way to go about it is by getting a plain-colored mug or one with minimal designs that leave space for customization. Brand it with a picture of their pet or its name. This gift will make drinking coffee and other beverages more special for them.

Pet Hair Vacuum
Pets shed, and just because the owner has accepted that as a part of pet ownership doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get some help in dealing with the hair. You can help them by giving them a pet hair vacuum for Christmas.
The design of these vacuums can handle pet hair, and some come with disposable dustbags that keep pet hair trapped until it can be disposed of properly. You can also get a cordless option so that the user can enjoy more convenience.
Here are fifteen gift ideas for you so you can have something for your pet friends this Christmas! I believe I have been of help to you, and I’m glad I could help. You can also check out Christmas gifts for couples here. Kindly share this list if you found it helpful. Thanks a lot.
